MEU QUARTO EM PORTUGAL | The Company

It all started in 2016 with the dream of helping Brazilians start their life in England and find an excellent room in London. Since then, there have been many hours of planning, many contacts, many drawings, plans and many victories. Approximately one and a half years after the launch of the MeuQuartoemLondres website in April 2017, the company helped more than 400 people find a room in London, has a maximum rating of customers, more than 30 partners and a portfolio of approximately 4,000 rooms available .

The idea of expanding the platform and our business to Portugal has the same goal: to help people who want to move to the country. Portugal is one of the countries most sought after by Brazilians recently when it comes to living in Europe, whether by language, the historical link or the agreements signed between Brazil and Portugal that encourage the exchange of students from both countries. The MeuQuartoemPortugal platform will meet all the Brazilians who are moving there (including cities like Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto), or with the family - to start a new life, or as an entrepreneur - to start a new business or to some months studying at a university.

Turn your experience into something unforgettable. Make your request, we are here to help you!

Know a little more about Portugal

Portugal is one of the most sought countries by Brazilians when it comes to living in Europe, whether by its language or by the historic connection with our country. Besides that, other factors that encourage Brazilians are the agreements between Brazil and Portugal that encourage the exchange of students from both countries. What matters is that Portugal is a breathtaking country, with very welcoming people, great life quality and has a low cost by European standards. Portugal is a small country with much more to offer than its size might show. The Portuguese gastronomy is one of the best in the world, considered a festival of flavors. Whether with its numerous seafood dishes (mainly cod) or its egg-based desserts (heritage of the famous bakeries in Brazil), Portugal offers many options for culinary lovers.

Traveling around in Portugal is very simple and the language in common helps Brazilians a lot. The highly praised Sintra, the beaches of the Algarve and the Vicentine Coast - Sagres, Lagos, Albufeira and Vila Nova de Milfontes, the Peneda-Gerês National Park, the Braga and Coimbra university towns, the historic center of Porto and the famous Douro River, the capital and charming Lisbon and the Cascais line, to the medieval Évora. There is no shortage of reasons to visit this country, which has captivated us since our arrival.

  • The city of Coimbra is famous because of the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest in Europe and founded in 1290. It’s a city that breathes traditions, mainly having the academic holidays,
Latada and Queima das Fitas (the largest student party of Europe), and besides, 25% of its residents are university students. The main sights of the city are the University of Coimbra itself, the Church of
the Old Cathedral, the Republic Square, the Church of the New Cathedral and the Joanina Library, all of which are located in the same region of the city. The cost of living in Coimbra is considered low compared to the rest of Europe, either in accommodation or in the daily expenses of food and transport.

  • Porto is a city known worldwide for its wine, its bridges and its contemporary and ancient architecture. In Ribeira, as the Douro River region is known, you can find the best restaurants, where you can enjoy Porto wine, while admiring the landscapes and bridges of the city. Also, those who go to Porto shouldn’t leave without tasting their typical food called '' francesinha ''. The Tower of the Clergymen, in the center of the city, is one of the main tourist sights, in which it’s possible to climb and see the beauty of the city from above. For students, Porto offers a wide variety of pubs and parties around Paris Gallery Street, where young people from all over the world gather to enjoy the region's effervescent nights.

  • As the capital of Portugal, Lisbon is a charming city. Whether for its traditional music, the “fado”, or for its wonderful gastronomy. The city exudes history, much of which has to do with Brazil, and has a lot of touristic options. The “Alfama”, a traditional neighborhood with steep hillsides and fado bars, is among the must-see attractions, as well as the famous and charming bohemian neighborhood full of bars and restaurants, the “Chiado”. Other tips include the “Miradouro da Senhora do Monte” and “São Jorge’s castle”, places where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. In addition, there’s the area of “Torre de Belém” and “Monastery of Jerónimos”, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset, tasting a delicious "Pastel de Belém". Safe and easy to travel, Lisbon is a great option for students who want to live in a big city, with the easy public transportation and a high quality of life among the blue sky and good climate.
